Sell, supply and allow consumption.
- BYO is considered an On Licence
Off Licence
Sell, deliver and arrange for delivery
- bottle stores and supermarket
- bar, hotel or club will need an off licence if they wish to sell alcohol.
- also allows samples of alcohol e.g. promotional
Club Licence
Sell and supply.
Consumption is allowed for member of the club, guest accompanied of the club and member of another club with reciprocal visiting rights.
Special Licence
On site - Sell and supply. Consumption is allowed for the people attending the event/occasion.
Off site - Sell. Consumption elsewhere.
Displace of signs.
Interior - Entrance - Trading hours - Any other conditions
Managers name - Inside the premises
Minors working
Allowed in supervised and restricted areas:
Cleaning, repairing, maintaining, altering, or restocking.
Removing or replacing equip.
Stocktaking.
Checking or removing cash.
Preparing or serving meals.
Minors working (additional exemption)
When employed in a supervised area, I it is not an offence for minors to also sell and supply alcohol.

Passport - Any
Licence - NZ
18 plus card - NZ
Section 267
Powers to Enter.
Constable or Inspector
Any reasonable time - Any time
Enter/inspected licence premises
Ascertain complying with the act/licence - Believe an offence against the act is being committed on those premises.
Any person who without reasonable excuse and with unreasonable delay - Refuses ore fails to admit - Commits an offence.
Section 267 (3)
Police can also require the production of any licence, book, notice record etc. The licensee or manager required to provide any information or assistance.
Section 269
Demand Information.
Reasonable to cause to suspect.
Committed, is committing or attempting to commit.
Any offence against the act.
Require: Name, address or DOB.
If false.
Cautions, if they persist then maybe arrested.
Section 269 (3)
Arrest powers.
Warn and caution them first for failing or refusing to supply details.
Potentially arrest.
