Knowledge of requirements regarding the health, safety and welfare of seafarers and the obligations on the Master regarding risk assessment and management on a larger vessel

It is required by law for the owner/operator to ensure a safe working environment.
The master must ensure the vessel remains a safe working environment, including training and management of crew (particularly in regards to fatigue)

Knowledge of safe working practices with slinging and cargo work
A
To maintain a safe working practices,
- Use of appropriate PPE
- Never working under the lifted load
- Use of two way communication
- Use of a spotter, working at a safe speed
-Ensure crew are fit work work/duty and trained
accordingly for the tasks and not fatigued
-Ensure environmental conditions do not affect the safety of the work taking place
