How to find the stomach
How to find the transverse colon
How to find the coeliac trunk
How to find the cecum
How to find appendix
How to find the pancreas
How to find the spleen
How to find the transverse colon
How to find the greater omentum
How to find the stomach:
Reflect the left lobe of the liver upwards
How to find the transverse colon:
Lift up the greater omentum, it is attached to the greater omentum
How to find the coeliac trunk:
Located between the liver and stomach, may need to reflect the liver slighlty. See 3 branches - it is the most left one. Like a mercendes benz sign
How to find the cecum
Between the terminal ileum and ascending colon. Cecum is the ‘bulging’ one. The cecum has the appendix attached
How to find appendix
Attached to the cecum
How to find the pancreas:
Behind the stomach, in the ‘curve’ of the duodenum
How to find the spleen:
Looks like a kidney (kind of), upper left
How to find the transverse colon
It moves when greater omentum is reflected
How to find greater omentum
Big ‘flap’
What is paracolic recess…
Lesser and greater sac
- How to find these?
What is:
- Supracolic compartment?
- Infracolic compartment?
What seperates them
Lesser sac:
Posterior to stomach
Greater omentum and transverse colon seperates the supracolic and infracolic comparments
