Suspect someone unl at large, believe person in place/vehicle

Can a person under 14 give consent to search of a place, vehicle or other thing?
No, unless driving a vehicle and no passenger 14 or over with authority to search it
(they can consent to a search of themselves)
When do you not need to announce entry for a search?
When nobody present
When compliance: would endanger safety, prejudice successful entry and search, prejudice ongoing investigation
Does being dressed in a SRBA only amount to being in uniform for searches?
No
Authorisation for a road block
Sgt or above and believe that in a vehicle there is a person you suspect:
Has committed imprisonable offence or is unl at large and
suspect vehicle will travel past road block site
(need to ensure safety of all road users)
How long do road blocks last for?
Up to 24 hours. May be rnewed by District Court judge for further period also up to 24 hours
(must keep record of location and reasons)
Who needs to approve seizing of samples from persons external body?
