Horizontally or vertically never diagonally

From each corner 150mm maximum on the walls and in line horizontally or vertically with electrical components.

They should be laid around crawl ways and hatchways.

At least 50mm either side or if this isn’t possible the closest to the middle.
How far do holes in joists need to be apart from each other?
Holes should be no less than 3 diameters worth of length apart.
What is the maximum diameter a hole in a joist can be?
No bigger than 0.25x the joist depth.
What is the maximum depth a notch can be in a joist?
0.125x the joist depth.
Can cables be run in cavity walls?
No
Can you paint cables?
No.
What is the maximum and minimum heights electrical components can be placed at?
Between 450mm and 1200mm.
Where do consumer units need to be placed?
Readily accessible and above any flood levels if applicable.
What is multi compartment trunking used for?
Running different band cables separate.
What is a band 1 cable?
Extra low voltage (below 50V AC and below 120V DV).
