What are the different methods of wiring lights?
- Three plate method.
- Two plate method.
- Loop in (conduit) method.
- Junction box method.
Where is the three plate method used?
Domestic installations.
How do you add more than one light per switch in lighting circuits
Come out of the the switch live, neutral and earth terminals to the next light.
How do you connect strappers?
By having 3 live cables going from L1 to L1, L2 to L2, L3 to L3 and connecting the earth
Where is the two plate method used and why?
In newer domestic installations in preparation for smart switching.
Where is the loop in (conduit) method used?
Commercial and industrial installations.
Where is the junction box method used?
In both commercial and domestic installations.
What are the different types of switching arrangements?
- One way switching.
- Two way switching.
- Intermediate switching.
- Smart switching.
What wiring method do you take the neutral down to the switch and why?
2 plate method, for or in preparation for smart switching.
