RS-Islamic W1 - Importance of Love for God Flashcards
It is having a strong conviction and trust in God’s plan and presence. It is expressed through love and service that benefit one’s neighbors.
Faith
Six articles of the Islamic faith:
Believe in God (Tawhīd)
Believe in the angels
Believe in the books
Believe in the messengers
Believe in the Day of Judgement
Believe in God’s predestination (Qadr)
It is believing and holding on to the promise of God of joy, happiness and peace whether here on earth or life after death.
Hope
It is that element in our lives, that we need, that energizes us, that propels us forward, so that we can achieve great things.
Hope
It is the source of light for those who yearn to have the best in all things. The great thing is that Allah shows us how to create hope for lasting bliss both in this worldly life and eternal hereafter.
Hope
God prepared the world in which we live. (Of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and colors)
Surah Ar-Rum (30:22)
God gives us life and continues to keep us in existence. (Have you not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky? With it We produce fruits of various colors. And in the mountains are streaks of white and red — varying in their hue — and pitch-black. Likewise, human beings, animals, and livestock come in various colors. From among His servants, the learned fear Allah. Allah is Almighty, Oft-Forgiving)
Surah Faatir (35:27–28)
God gathers us as a community. (O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted)
Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13)
How We can Show Our Love for God
We show our gratitude to Him.
We increase our love for ourselves.
We increase our love for other people.
We recognize the value and dignity of the environment.
“…and do not throw with your hands into destruction. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good…”
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:195)
“Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].”
Surah Ar-Rum (30:41)
