Pronouns
a substitute for the name of a person or object
Personal
three cases of Personal pronouns
Nominative, Objective, Possessive
used as objects of verbs or prepositions (Me, us, you)
Objective case
used as subjects of verb (I, we, you)
Nominative case
to show ownership or possession (mine, our, ours, your, yours)
Possessive case
evolved, undergone change over time, used in Old English (thee, thou, thy, thyself, ye)
Archaic
used for nonspecific things (anybody, nobody, somebody, anywhere, everywhere, nothing, something)
Indefinite
usually seen at the beginning of the abjective clause (Who, which, whom, whose, that)
Relative (Clausemarkers)
Demonstrate or pointing at something or someone (this, that, those, these)
