Deffinition of driver
Anyone operating any type of vehicle , includes the rider of a motorcycle or moped or bicycle
What is considered a motor vehicle?
‘Motor vehicle’ means a vehicle drawn or propelled by mechanical power,
and includes a trailer; but does not include:
• a vehicle running on rails
Defenition of opperate
To drive or use the vehicle on a road,
permit the vehicle to be on a road
whether or not the person is present with the vehicle;
Vehicle deffinition
‘Vehicle’ means a contrivance equipped with wheels, tracks, or revolving
runners on which it moves or is moved; and includes:
• a hovercraft,
• a skateboard,
• in-line skates,

Types of liscence categories
learner
restricted
full
Learner liscence conditions
accompanied by a supervisor seated in the front
who has held a full licence for two years.
The person must display two ‘L’ plates
Restricted liscence conditions
driving between 10pm and 5am, the person must be accompanied
carrying passengers accompanied by a supervisor
unless the passengers are their spouse or dependants or spouse’s dependants.
Time limit for holding Learner and Restricted licences
five years.
Failing to comply with learner/ restricted conditions:
