A

Separate a mixture for analysis
Identification by comparing Rf values

How to carry out TLC

A

Draw a pencil line on TLC plate. Spot samples along line using capillary tube
Add TLC plate to a jar with solvent that sits below origin. Add lid
As solvent rises up TLC, components are brought up with it
When solvent reaches nearly top of paper take it out and draw a pencil line then allow to dry
