One-half inch lifeline has a tensile strength of 9000lbs
Proper safety factor of 15:1, useable capacity of line is 600lbs, NFPA standard for two-person load

Nylon static kernmantle rope become sticky at 445 degrees and melts between 480 degrees and 500 degrees
