RNAV RNP AR Flashcards
Study
B4 conducting a flight where you may have to RNP AR, GPS App what should you check in Disptach?
Raim Prediction ( + check it under others on the fuel docket)
What is PBN
Performance Base Navigation:
Required level of Nav performance for route or procedure.
The value define by X = the max distance in NM the A/C may deviate fro the track center-line for 95% of the time
PBN X values for:
Oceanic En-route:
Continental En-route:
Term (SID, START):
App:
Oceanic En-route: X=10
Continental En-route: X= 5
Term (SID, START): X= 1
App: x= 0.3
X is a function of Type of :
Airspace/procedure & availability of Grd Navaids or GNSS
PBN includes
RNAV + RNP
Rnav without Performance monitoring and Alerting
RNP with Performance monitoring and Alerting
And GNSS ( Global Nav Sat Sys ( all satellite nav sys)
B-Rnav
Same as RNAV 5 but in Europe
P-Rnav
Used in Terminal Area in Europe = Rnav 1
Difference btw PRNAV and RNAV 1 = PRNAV all use of vor/dme sometimes
Rnp AR Apch requires or uses 1 to 0.1 for …..
But uses …. for Final app
Initial app and intermed app and miss app
0.3-0.1
Source of Nav for app is shown on the …Next to AP on
PFD
Magenta NPS are called:
Nav perf scales dev pointer
RNP next to the Vnav Deviation scale is for?
Vertical RNP/ANP
RNP AND ANP for Lateral is shown on bottom of
ND
Cross track error is shown underneath the
White triangle representing the airplane
ANP bars are white or amber bands/bars on
ends the NPS , They move inward towards the center as ANP increases
Rnav means
Area Naviagation
Nav method that uses station reference Navaids or able to use self contained aids or combination of both, allow nav on any path
What type of approaches are the following:
RNAV GNSS RWY XX, RNAV GPS XX, RNP RWY XX?
NPA based on GNSS wt onboard monitoring and alerting system
Requirement to do Rnav GNSS approaches:
FARM CF (Crocodile+ Foxes)
Crew trained FMC retrievable from database Raim check for validity App validate against chart Final points not modified ( Final des to MAP) Miss app in Lnav
Nav unable RNP occurs when
ANP exceeds RNP
Must notify ATC RNP unable
RNP for VOR DME, and RNAV app is
0.5 nm Fcom 11.31
RNP for GPS
0.3 nm Fcom 11.31
RNP AR is
Required Area Nav Pref with Authorization required
NPA
Based on GNSS ( and IRS if RNP is < 0.3nm for final app and Miss < 1.0nm)
RNP AR is charts are shown as;
RNAV RNP RWY….
or
RNP RWY XX (AR)
Do RNP AR require crew Authorization
yes
When is RNP AR used
Reduced later and vertical obstacle clearance
DO RNP AR system alert the crew is nav performance is met or not met?
yes
When are RNP AR APC normally done:
RNP for int, intermediate or miss is < 1.0NM
final RNP <0.3nm
Radius to fix segment or RF leg
What changes can be made RNP AR APP
@ or abv can change to @
Spd Change less or @ max published spd
Must VNAV be engaged for all segments of the RNP AR APP?
Yes
For RNP AR APP Lnav must be engaged no later than
IAF
What or why is 125 feet entered in vertical RNP?
Give amber Deviation exceedance at 75 feet because Vertical ANP will be 50ft all time.
Manual entry to RNP will prevent
Automatic RNP change over until deleted
What equipment is needed for RNP AR APP?
2 PFD+mini map 2 MFD no nav air data 2 FD 2 GPS 2 IRU or 1 IRU +1 AHRU 2 FMC
