What is PBN
Performance Base Navigation:
Required level of Nav performance for route or procedure.
The value define by X = the max distance in NM the A/C may deviate fro the track center-line for 95% of the time
PBN X values for:
Oceanic En-route:
Continental En-route:
Term (SID, START):
App:
Oceanic En-route: X=10
Continental En-route: X= 5
Term (SID, START): X= 1
App: x= 0.3
X is a function of Type of :
Airspace/procedure & availability of Grd Navaids or GNSS
PBN includes
RNAV + RNP
Rnav without Performance monitoring and Alerting
RNP with Performance monitoring and Alerting
And GNSS ( Global Nav Sat Sys ( all satellite nav sys)
B-Rnav
Same as RNAV 5 but in Europe
P-Rnav
Used in Terminal Area in Europe = Rnav 1
Difference btw PRNAV and RNAV 1 = PRNAV all use of vor/dme sometimes
Rnp AR Apch requires or uses 1 to 0.1 for …..
