Difference in a continuous or categorical/discrete variable?

A

Continuous is a variable that can have a decimal or multiple options, e.g. weight

Discrete is a variable with only one option e.g. male/female

A

Bell shaped (rise in the middle) = normal

A ‘tail’ skewed either positively or negatively, positive if peak on the right.
