Indications for use
Cognitive enhancer , Alzheimer (mod – sev)
MOA
Anticholinesterases inhibit both true and pseudo cholinesterase, leading to an increase of cholinergic transmission in brain and improvement of cognitive function
Pharmacological effects
enhance communication btw nerve cells / enhancing cholinergic function
Pharmacokinetics (way of administration, metabolism, elimination, T1/2)
oral, transdermal, liver, urine (Elimination is complete (90%) 24 hours after administration)
Overdose effects
severe nausea & vomiting, diarrhea
Side effects
Anorexia, nausea, loss of appetite, dizziness
Contraindications for use
Hypersensitivity, severe liver dysfunction, breastfeeding
Drug interactions
cholinomimetics – enhance cholinergic effects
Children
Contraindicated
Interactions with products (meal), drinks
With meals
Elderly patients

Overdose treatment
usingatropine to reverse muscarinic manifestations and benzodiazepines to stop seizures, and supportive, discontinuation of treatment for 24 hours, use of antiemetics, atropine sulfate (in case of significant overdose at the initial dose of 0.03 mg/kg IV), symptomatic therapy
Pregnant women
