Health care – in Santer Marta(8000) medical staff to have kids to peoples homes and were able to detect 20 different diseases which reduced infant mortality rate and improved Life expectancy
Education- authorities tried to improve access to education by encouraging local people to volunteer and available free lessons footb.
Crime- police taking steps to control crime. In 2013 pacifying police units what established to reclaim favelas from drug dealers

Rapid industrial growth increases formal economy which results in a better economy as people pay tax to improve infrastructure

air pollution- estimated 5000 deaths/year and often covered in brown smog from heavy traffic and congestion
waste pollution- Many built on steep slopes/ have few proper roads,so access difficult for waste collection lorries
water pollution-Guanabara Bay is highly polluted, causing major threat to wildlife and Beaches would damage tourism and the local economy
