Q

what are the reasons for field-sketches, photographs, maps when comleting fieldwork

A

Field Sketches- surpport the EQS by identifying the key features of each site visited. This can be used when analysing data, to explain possible reasons for high/low scores.
-allows key features of drainage basin to be identified
Photographs-allows you to plot and show sites and the surrounding infrastructure eg. roads
Maps- allows for identification of general landuse, rock type which may impact flood risk.

Q

Evaluation of primary data collection methods

A

Human:Pedestriann and Vehicle count- using a table, the number of different vehicles were counted moving past a selected point and tailed over the space of a minuteat each site. The number of pedestrians were counted the same way
Why-To see if the regeneration is bringing people into the area and also show if the number of pedestrians has incrs. in an area esp where pedestiranisation has been used to improve seafront.
Limitations- The data was taken <> 10am-12pm on a Friday morning in November so the data might not reflect the number who normally visit(more in summer)
