A
inflmtn of nasal passages and sinuses that drain into those passages
acute, subacute, or chronic

etiology
A
sinuses drain through ostia, but in RS the ostia is obstructed d/t:
- viral or bacterial infection
- allergy
- nasal polyps

manifestations
A
- similar to cold
- headache, fever, nasal discharge
- facial pain

diagnosis
A
- Hx, Px (exam of nose and throat)
- XR and CT for chronic cases

Q
treatment
A
- topical steroids
- abx?
- mucolytic agents
- symptomatic management
