Polymyalgia Rheumatica

A

Chronic inflammatory disease.

Normally women >50 years

Symmetrical pain in shoulders, hips, or neck; morning stiffness; and systemic symptoms (e.g., fatigue, malaise, and depressed mood).

Dermatomyositis

A

Inflammatory myopathy.

Progressive, proximal muscle weakness. Erythematous rash on the extensor hand joints (Gottron sign), upper eyelids (heliotrope rash), upper anterior torso (V-sign), and upper posterior torso (shawl sign).
