someone impairment makes you disabled. Your body is the cause of disability,

Barriers in society that stop people from particpating
What are the factors that promote or constrain PA participation in disabled people? Link into social ecological model with barriers and facilitators.
Individual level-
Psychological, employment and body function.
Interpersonal level-
Social support,attitudes, social processes.
organisation level-
rehab processes, programme factors, building for public use.

climate,products and technology
policy-
health policy,transport, systems and polices and need for staff training.
What are some indicators of quality participation?
Letting people have a choice and control.
feeling challenged.
engaged in task.
When is exercise not medicine?
Some conditions can never be cured
Could cause pain
Some people do it for enjoyment
What is thinspiration?
Social media movement to promoting thinness
What is fitspiration?
focus on fitness and health, however research shows its promoting thinness or cost
What are the strengths medical model?
Strengths-
Aim is to eliminate disease or impairment to restore function
•Where possible we do want people to recover
What are the strengths of the social model?

What is the definition of exercise dependence?
Is characterized by dependency on physical activity in one or more of its forms, and by withdrawal symptoms, if participation is denied. If exercise dependent would prioritise exercise over work, family and social factors.
What is the idealized body image?
lean muscular physique.
thin and fit
What is perfectionism?
personality trait characterized by a person’s striving for flawlessness and setting high performance standards, accompanied by critical self-evaluations
