What is Empathy?
An other-oriented emotional response that is congruent to another’s perceived welfare

What is Perspective taking?
Involves adopting the psychological point of view of others
What is Empathic concern?
Involves feelings of compassion and sympathy for unfortunate others.
What is Moral identity?
A cognitive schema (belief) about their moral character.
What is Autonomous Motivation?
Doing something for its own sake (e.g., enjoyment)
What is Controlled Motivation?
Doing something for reasons that not self-determined such as via from self-imposed (introjectedregulation) or external pressures or control.
