What is exercise psychology?
a discipline used to help people assess where they are at with regards to exercise
What is physical activity?
Movement of the body produced by the skeletal muscles which results in energy expenditure
What is exercise?
Planned, structured and repetitive bodily movements with an objective to maintain or improve fitness
What is sedentary behaviour?
Siting or lying during waking hours with low levels of energy expenditure
What is the social cognitive theory?
2 factors leading to behaviour.
Behaviour is influenced by personal and environmental factors.

peoples beliefs in their performance, not their actual skill
What is affect?
Generic valenced of good vs bad towards something.
What is mood?
A global set of affcetive feelings states experienced on day to day basis. Eg could wake up in a bad mood and not know why.
What is emotion?
Specific feeling state in reaction to certain events.
Why is it that hit training may or may not be good to overcome barriers of exercise?

Can be unpleasant because of intensity
What is depression?
Depressed mood nearly every day.
Huge weight loss without dieting.
Fatigued
Worthless
impaired concnetration
Have to have these sypmtons for 2 weeks to be diagnosed.
