what is proactive and reactive?
proactive - initiating change rather than reacting to events
reactive - waiting for a change to occur and then resonding to it
how to be proactive?
- constantly observing business performance to identify problems before they occur
- forecasting likely events and trends in the market
- regularly consulting with customers, employees and professional analysts to identify opportunities to mak the business more effient and effective.
how does reactive change happen?
- observing competitors then copying their processes and products and strategies
- dealing with a crisis and then creating policies to try and stop the crisis from happening again
- waiting for customers or employees to demand change then responding to change

Change works best when it happens slowly enough for businesses to absorb and smoothly intergrate into their operations
changes need to be evaluated thoroughly to assess their overall impact.
