Daily checks of resus kit

1. Open cylinder, make sure there’s at least 100 bar
2. Check oxygen therapy by rotating the flow control on the pressure reducer
3. Connect the demand valve to bag and make sure that the bag squeezes and re-inflates
4. Check suction catheter
5. Close the cylinder
6. bleed/release pressure with suction button or with therapy flow

How to use for oxygen resus

1. Make sure valve is connected to bag, connected to mask
2. Insert OPA if appropriate
3. Head tilt for casualty
4. Mask sealed over patients nose and mouth correctly
5. Squeeze bag gently but firmly (look for chest rise)
6. Allow for an exhale
7. Continue CPR and constantly reassess airway. Be prepared for suction of fluids (vomit, blood etc)
