Insterstitial Lung Disease
ILD is an umbrella term encompassing a broad spectrum of disorders,most, but not all of which primarly affect the pulmonary interstitium
Stages of Pneumonia
Stages of pneumonia:
Stage 1: Acute inflammation of alveoli and adjacent airways
- exudate formed: includes neutrophils, red blood cells, lymphocytes and fibrin
Stage 2: Consolidation may form in the alveoli due to the exudate
- invasion of leukocytes, macrophages and phagocytes
Stage 3: resolution

Signs/Sx
Fever, malise, dysponea and tachycardia
Cough
Moist, productive with large amount of sputum
Auscultation
Coarse crackles
CXR
Scattered pathy opacity
Lobar Penuemioia
Lobar Pnemonia
Fever, malise, dysponea and tachcardia
PLEURITIC PAIN
Dry initially, buy may produce rusty sputum
Bronchial breath sounds over consolidation
More uniformed opacity
