COPD

A

COPD is a heterogenous lung condition characterised by chronic respiratory symptoms (dyspnoea, cough, sputum production and or exacerbation) due to abnormalities of the airways (bronchitis, bronchiolitis) and/or alveoli (emphysema) that cause persistent, often progressive, airflow obstruction.

PHYSIO MANAGEMENT:
Breathing exercises, airway clearance, mobilisation

Outcome measures: Modified British research council breathlessness scale (5 pt scale)
