Q

Turbhuhaler

A
  1. Unscrew and lift off the cap.
  2. Holding the Turbuhaler upright, twist the coloured
based to the right as far as it will go and then turn it
back. You should hear a click.
  3. Breathe out gently away from the Turbuhaler. 4. Hold the coloured base and place the tip of the
mouthpiece between your lips. (Twist three times if
    using an intercost Turbuhaler).
  4. Breathe in deeply and forcefully. Need sufficient force
    to “suck up the drug”.
  5. Repeat steps if a second dose is required.
  6. A second dose will not be delivered if the Turbuhaler is
has not dispensed the previous dose, however the counter will continue and therefore show empty before it really is.
  7. Dose counter: red appears when 20 doses and shows fully red when empty.
    Cleaning:
    * Wipe down with a dry cloth. DO NOT immerse or wash with water.

Q

Accuhaler

A
  1. Open the accuhalers by sliding the thumb, grip right around until it clicks. This will expose the mouthpiece.
  2. Slide the lever on the top across to the right until it clicks. This makes the dose ready for inhalation and decreases the counter by one (DO NOT deliberately decrease the counters!!)
  3. Breathe out as much as possible.
  4. Put the mouthpiece to your lips and breathe in steadily (not through your nose).
  5. Remove the accuhalers.
  6. Hold your breath for 10 seconds.
  7. Breathe out slowly.
  8. Close the accuhalers by sliding the thumb grip back into place.
  9. Repeat the dose as prescribed from the first step.
  10. Rinse your mouth out with water.
Cleaning: wipe with a dry cloth, do not immerse or wash with water.
Dose counter: will count down from 60. The accuhalers is empty when it reads zero.
