What is “step potential?”
When your feet are in an area where there is voltage difference, causing yourself to complete the circuit and be the source to ground.
What is an indication of the danger of “step potential?”
Tingling sensation in the feet
Is step potential more severe when the ground is wet or dry?
Wet
How is electrical equipment classified?
Energized
De-energized (cannot be 100% guaranteed)
Dead (confirmed by utility company)
What is the difference between direct and indirect path to ground in regards to electricity?
Direct - contact is made between something energized to a portion of your body directly
Indirect - contact is made between something energized and something you are holding (ex, tools)
Where should the apparatus be placed when responding to power lines down?
Away from downed power lines and poles, and out from under involved overhead lines that could fail and fall on to equipment and personnel
