What does SALTAPS stand for?

A

S - stop (task).
A - ask (participant).
L - look (at injured area).
T - touch (provide stimulation wait for response)(permission).
A - active movement (can they move?)
P - passive movement (what can’t the athlete do?)
S - stand up (can they walk)

What is the acronym RICE?

A

For soft tissue injuries.
R- rest (short + long term).
I - Ice (apply cold treatment).
C - compression (prevent swelling and gives sense of relief)
E - elevation (raising the injured area) (reduction of the vascular flow/swelling).

What are the six R’s?

A

(For concussion)
Recognise - signs and symptoms, dizziness nausea.
Remove - immediate substitution.
Refer - medical support.
Rest - minimum rest.
Recover - full recovery
Return - In writing by medical professional.
