a genetic condition which causes the mucous secretions to become thick and sticky.
. Instead of acting as a lubricant, the secretions plug up tubes, ducts and passageways, especially in the lungs and pancreas.
Pleuritis
inflammation of the pleura (membrane covering the lungs and forming the inner lining of the chest)
. Maybe caused by infection, cancer, trauma, pneumothorax, embolism and a variety of other reasons
