No longer than ten seconds and hyper oxygenated. Make no more than three passes 10 seconds each.
Suction pressure should be no more than 120.
Only apply suction once the catheder is inserted.

Administer anticholinergics ( scopolamine or atropine drops)

Anticholinergic and bronchodilator. Use as first line in event of shortness of breath

Most common immobility caused infection due to pooling of secretions from ineffective coughing
If the patient has pneumonia on one side, what position should that person be in?
Lying on unaffected side
