light=> pleural thickening and calcification, mesothelioma
heavy => bronchial carcinoma, asbestosis

A
o Scoliosis – abnormal lateral curvature of the spine
o Kyphosis – abnormal, excessive forward curvature of the thoracic spine

- PaO2< 8kPa
- PaCO2> 4.5kPa
- Silent chest
- Cyanosis
- Feeble respiratory effort
- Hypotension, bradycardia, arrhythmia
- Exhaustion, confusion, coma
