A
Controlling and monitoring of resources, such as food, water and energy, so that they don’t become exhausted

Why is water important?
A
- Essential for drinking, washing, sanitation and cooking.
- It is also needed for industrial processes
- Dirty water can cause waterborne diseases like cholera which lead to ill health or death
- Water is vital to grow crops to feed people and to sell for money

Why is food important?
A
- Everybody needs a minimum daily calorie intake to live and work
- Too few calories lead to malnourishment or starvation and higher chance of disease
- People need a balanced diet and a good number of calories to be healthy and fit for work (this contributes to a strong economy)

Why is energy important?
A
- Energy is needed for industry, transport and domestic use
- Energy is vital for domestic use to power homes
- Can be used to power water pumps for clean water
- Also vital for industrial development and economic growth
