Non-renewable resources
Non-living resources that exist in a limited amount on the planet and that are not renewed after they’ve been used. Ex: fossil fuels
Value of resources
Economic: can it be sold?
Ecological: important service? No monetary value.
Scientific: useful for research?
Intrinsic: cultural, aesthetic, spiritual value? No monetary value.
Natural capital
The stock of an ecosystem that can yield a supply of valuable goods and services. Ex: timber can either be a good or protect the soil from eroding (service)
Produces natural income.
