Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)
Shows the project resources assigned to each work package. It is used to illustrate the connections between work packages or activities and project team members.
RACI Chart
Responsible, Accountable, Consult, Inform - A useful tool to ensure clear assignment of roles and responsibilities when the team consists of internal and external resources.
Activity Attributes
Provide the primary data source for use in estimating team and physical resources required for each activity on the activity list.
Expert / Experienced Management Power
Experienced in that discipline or technology or have been a PM for a long time
Reward / Incentive Management Power
Team believes you have the power to reward them for their work
Formal / Positional Management Power
A new PM at a company so there isn’t a real relationship except for the position of PM
Coercive Management Power
Team feels threatened that you could punish them or give them a bad assessment
Referent Management Power
Team has worked with you before and has a relationship with you already or you refer to someone else’s authority
Theory of X and Y
Both the theories, which are very different from each other, are used by managers to motivate their employees. Theory X gives importance to supervision, while theory Y stresses on rewards and recognition.
Theory of Constraints
a methodology for identifying the most important limiting factor (i.e., constraint) that stands in the way of achieving a goal and then systematically improving that constraint until it is no longer the limiting factor. In manufacturing, the constraint is often referred to as a bottleneck.
Halo Effect
The halo effect is the tendency for positive impressions of a person, company, country, brand, or product in one area to positively or negatively influence one’s opinion or feelings in other areas.
Ouchi’s Theory Z
Focused on increasing employee loyalty to the company by providing a job for life with a strong focus on the well-being of the employee, both on and off the job.
+ The Expectancy Theory
The theory states that the intensity of a tendency to perform in a particular manner is dependent on the intensity of an expectation that the performance will be followed by a definite outcome and on the appeal of the outcome to the individual.
Formula for calculating communication channels
