What is egg scattering ?

A

Their is two types:
- adhesive which the eggs stick to plants. Example is most tetras and barbs
- not adhesive which just fall to the bottom. Example is most danios

What is egg depositors ?

A

They deposit eggs into substrata. They typically release less eggs but they are larger. Angelfish are typically them.

What is a mouth brooders ?

A

They are also know as oral incubation, this is when an animals holds the offspring inside if their mouth for an extended period of time. Some examples are jawfish and arowana.

What is substrate brooders ?

A

In most case the female will release eggs into the same place, for the males to come and fertilised. Then be cared for by the male until hatched. For example ancistrus plecs and kribensis

A

They build this with fine leafed and floating materials, these are on the substrate of the gravel or sand. For example betas and Chinese paradise fish

A

These are fish that retain there eggs inside of the body and then give birth to live and free swimming young. For example guppies and mollies.

A

They are fish that start as one gender and then switch to the other one. There are two types protandry (male to female) and protogyny ( female to male). For example clownfish and parrot fish.
