What is the open ocean ?
This is the area away from the coastal boundaries and above the seabed. This is the largest habitat covering 71% of the planet.
What is there mangrove swap?
They are coastal wetlands and found in tropical and subtropical regions. They have characteristic by halophytic trees, shrubs and other plants. They are a home for manatees.
What are flooded forest ?
Are dynamic forested ecosystem which only occurs in river valleys. These are constantly changing and can be found in almost every continent.
What are estuary ?
They are found where rivers and the sea meets. They are home to unique plants and animal communities adapted to live in brackish water.
What is the coral reef ?
They are underwater structures built by coral. They create beautiful shapes and colours. They can be described as the rainforest of the seas as they are homed to thousands of animals.
What are rock pools ?
These are small pools of water that form on the coast line and they are a micro habitats. They are covered at high tide and are exposed at low tide.
