What is over feeding ?
This is when an animal is provided with to much food.
What are the problems with over feeding?
This can lead to obesity and food will just be left. If food is left in the water to break down, it affects the oxygen, ammonia and ph levels. Which can affect the water quality .
What is starvation?
This is when they are provided with an appropriate amount of food. Can be not being feed completely or not enough to keep up with the animal.
What are the side effects of starvation?
It can lead to malnutrition, aggression and even death. Which will all affect the levels in the water.
What is the problem with incorrect food types?
This is because most animals eat what even was in the water. They eat all of the stuff no matter what is in it, which will lead to incorrect nutrition levels.
If the food is then left it creates an uneven elements in the oxygen, ammonia and PH levels.
Why is bite sizes food important?
If the food is too big or small, it will not be eaten leaving it in side of the water impacting the levels. Should not be done for flakes or other food unless instructed to.
What are the effects on oxygen levels ?
Over feeding cause low oxygen levels, improper digestion ans can alter the chemicals in the tank. This is common in fish owners. A lack of oxygen in the tank results in oxygen deletion in the water, meaning the fish suffocates.
What does to much ammonia levels do?
This is done by over feeding, increasing ammonia and nitrite levels. Which generally adds stress, causes burns, ammonia poisoning and sometimes death.
What is the problems with a low PH levels?
This can be done by over feeding as food waste uses up oxygen and produces a lot of acids. This both effect it.
What is white spot?
This is a Protozoa which is passed to each other, but quickly develops into a secondary fungal disease. Which displays its self as a white spots over the body and raised breathing.
