Contain eggs cells and release one every month
Oviducts
Tubes that carry eggs to the uterus
Cervix
A ring of muscle at the entrance of the uterus
Vagina
Receives sperm and is where the penis enters the woman body
What happens when a sperm and egg cell meet?
The nucleus of the sperm fertilises the egg which will form a zygote. Then the zygote will travel down to the nucleus and implant itself into the lining there.
Where does a baby grow?
In the uterus
Placenta
An organ where substances pass between the mothers blood and the foetus’s blood. It stops harmful substances from entering the uterus.
Umbilical Cord
Connects Foetus to Mother
Fluid Sac
Acts as a shock absorber, protecting the Foetus from any bumps
