Q

Muscles

A

These are attached to your bones which allow other bone to be moved.

24
Q

Joint

A

A Joint is where 2 bones meet. The things that make up a joint would be Ligaments, Synovial Fluid, Cartilage and the Bones itself.

25
Q

Types of Joints

A

Fused Joint- Allows no movement. Just holds 2 bones together.
Hinge Joint- Allows movement of 180 Degrees.
Ball and Socket Joint- Allows lots of flexibility (up to 360 Degrees round a circle)

Fused Joint- Allows no movement. Just holds 2 bones together.
Hinge Joint- Allows movement of 180 Degrees.
Ball and Socket Joint- Allows lots of flexibility (up to 360 Degrees)
Pivot Joint- Allows movement of up to 360 Degrees in a circle

38
Q

Cartilage

A

A kind of barrier that protects the ends of your bones wearing and eroding.

39
Q

Synovial Fluid

A

The Fluid between the bones and the Ligaments. It reduces friction and makes movement easier.

40
Q

Antagonistic Muscle Pairs

A

Two Muscles that work together to allow better and easier movement to certain bones. However they work in opposite directions. E.g 1 relaxes, 1 contacts.

41
Q

Bone Marrow

A

Thick kind of substance inside your bone used to create new blood cells.

42
Q

Inhalation

A

When you breathe in

43
Q

Exhalation

A

When you breathe out.

44
Q

What happens when you inhale?

A

Your lungs push up and out, your rib cage expands, your Muscle tenses up and your Diaphragm pushes down.

45
Q

What happens when you exhale?

A

Your lungs go back an in, your rib cage goes in due to your intercostal muscle relaxing, and your diaphragm pushes up.

46
Q

Biceps

A

The muscle located on top of the Humorous and pulls the Ulna and the Radius upwards

47
Q

Triceps

A

The muscle located under the Humorous which pulls the Ulna and Radius down.

48
Q

Vocal Chords

A

The pieces of skin that vibrate to make sound

49
Q

Weight

A

Measured in Kg and is the force of the earth due to it’s mass

50
Q

Wavelength

A

The distance between two identical waves

51
Q

Wave

A

A vibration that transfers energy

52
Q

Water Resistance

A

The force on an object moving through water that causes it to slow down

53
Q

Superpose

A

When waves join together so that they add up or cancel out each other.

54
Q

Transparent

A

You can see through it without a problem

55
Q

Transucent

A

You can see mostly/partly through it

56
Q

Opaque

A

You cannot see through it

57
Q

Ultrasound

A

Above a humans audible range (20,000 Hz or 20kHz)
