Sexual
when two gametes (sex cells) fuse to create an offspring genetically different to the parents. Two parents are involved
Asexual
reproduction of no fusion of gametes. requires only on parent and offspring is genetically identical to parent
Fertilisation
when a female and male gamete fuse together to form a zygote
Zygote
it will divide by mitosis to create an embryo
erection
this happens when the man is sexually aroused. The penis becomes stiff and bigger. this allows the penis to enter the vagina and give out sperm at the top of the vagina
cervix
a ring of muscle that holds the developing embryo in the uterus
uterus
is where the zygote will implant and develop into a fetus
Ovary
one of the female’s ovary will release an egg every month
Fallopian tube
a tube where the egg goes through and where it meets the sperm and fertilisation occurs
Testis
sperm are made in the testis
scrotum
the testis are held in the scrotum outside the body.
Sperm duct
when the sperm are released by ejaculation it travels up the sperm duct
Seminal visicles
the seminal visicles releases semen that mixes with the sperm
Testosterone (5)
- Causes testes to drop and penis to get bigger
- larynx enlarges (voice deepens)
- Muscles grow bigger
- Pubic and body hair grows
- triggers spermatogenises (sperm production)
Oestrogen (5)
- Triggers menstruation to happen
- Vagina to mature
- Widen hips
- pubic hair
- development of breasts
