used to supply nutrients to help plants grow better/stronger

made from manure of animals (horse) mixed with straw, supplies a lot of nitrogen.

- Does not harm the environment

Eutrophication
A
- Nutrients go into the river by rainwater.
- These nutrients make plants like algae grow
- The plants block the sunlight from reaching plants in water.
- Plants cannot make oxygen without sunlight so there is less oxygen + they die
- Bacteria decompose the dead plants (using up even more oxygen.
- Not enough oxygen is then present for life
