Eutrophication

A
  1. Nutrients go into the river by rainwater.
  2. These nutrients make plants like algae grow
  3. The plants block the sunlight from reaching plants in water.
  4. Plants cannot make oxygen without sunlight so there is less oxygen + they die
  5. Bacteria decompose the dead plants (using up even more oxygen.
  6. Not enough oxygen is then present for life
