Reproduction Flashcards
Fallopian tube/ Oviduct
Acts like a tunnel for the egg to go through.
Uterus
It’s where a fertilized egg implants during pregnancy and where your baby develops until birth (Womb)
Ovaries
They produce and store the eggs.
Cervix
Allows fluids to flow in and out of the Uterus.
Vagina
It provides a passageway for blood from the uterus to leave the body during a menstrual period and it provides a passageway for childbirth.
Sperm duct
The job of these ducts is to move sperm away from its storage place in the testicle

Its purpose is to fertilise an egg, pass on its genetic information and produce the next generation.
Implantation
When a fertilized cell attaches to the uterus wall.
Ovulation
Ovulation is the process in which a mature egg is released from the ovary
Fertilisation
When the sperm meets an ovum: this is the point in which pregnancy begins.
The Placenta
The only temporary organ, it is connected to the foetus by the umbilical chord. It lets substances pass between the two blood supplies.
