What are 5 interventions for treating glomerulonephritis?

A
  1. I&O/Daily weights
  2. Dialysis
  3. Fluid replacement (whatever is lost in 24 hours + 500)

Q

Inflammatory reaction in the glomerulus that is mainly caused by strep. Antibodies lodge in the glomerulus creating scarring and decreased filtering.

5
Q

An inflammatory response in the glomerulus where protein starts leaking out into the urine. Without the albumin fluid starts going into the interstitial space and blood volume decreases. The kidneys start to retain sodium and water resulting in anasarca.

Q

Why do we warm dialysate prior to using for peritoneal dialysis?

A

Promotes vasodilation and more blood flow

What are 4 symptoms of kidney stones?

A
  1. Hematuria
  2. Pain
  3. NV
  4. WBCs in urine
