The office for refugee policy is run by Catholics who decide the church policy so experts make the right choice and so that no one contradicts each other.
Why does the church help asylum seekers?
The parable of the sheep and goats said we must feed the hungry and house the homeless. Asylum seekers don’t often have food or a house so we should try and help them.
The golden rule says we must treat others as we would want to be treated. Jesus said it so we follow it and we would want help if we needed asylum.
Jesus came to “serce not be served”. He is the Christian role model so we should do what he did and serve people.
In the parrible of the sheep and goats Jesus said”what ever you do to the least of my brothers, so you do unto me”. We must show our love for Jesus by helpping those who need it,like asylum seekers.
