A

Offers practical support in the form of money or food so the parents have one less thing to worry about and can look after the children instead
Offers marriage classes so a couple can talk about problems.
Tries and makes Church family friendly so they can do something together.
The priest’s homily can remind the couple about the vows they made to each other.

How does the Church help with the upbringing of children.

A

Prepare children for the sacraments so they can learn more about being a Catholic and become a full member of the church.
Children’s liturgy explains ideas in the bible and helps them understand whats it all about. The parents can engage with the mass without being distracted.
Join a church with a school. Have Catholic role models. Get taught about the religion.
Churches provide youth groups, keeps them out of trouble, lets them socialise. Parents can get advice.

It can be part of a trial marriage that they accept those as long as there is an intention of marrying.
Promiscuity is wrong as is adultery.

S upport and comfort. It is a comfort to think a person will alsays be there for you.
U nion. Makes you one couple. United with each other and with God. God likes it and you pay less tax.
P rocreation. You can have children and God wants this to happen as do the catholics.

R aising children. They can start a family. Follows the catholic idea that marriage to about starting a family.

A ring is endless and it signifies that marriage lasts for ever.
Procreation. They make a vow to each other to have children.
Raising children it is in the declaration and prayers are given.
Surpport each other. They take a course before so they know how to do so. They make vows to surpport each other.

A

It is wrong as you made a promise to God and that can’t be broken. It is a sacrament.
Jesus said “A man who divorces his wife and marries anouther women commits adultery”
The CCC says “divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society”
They can live away from each but can’t remarry or have sex with anyone elss.
You can have an annulment which means that the marriage never happened.

A

It may be the best option for both parties. It is better to be apart then to be in an abusive relationship.
Jesus said that we must forgive each others mistakes.
In Matthew 19:9 Jesus said adultery was a reasonable ground for divorce.

A

There needs to be a nuclear family as it provides the stability that children need.
God said “be fruitful and multiply” meaning he wants us to have children and raise them.
Family is where children learn morals from.
The children have to be taught about the roman catholic church.

A

The Catholics say that having those feelings is not a sin as God made you that way.
However you shouldn’t act on those feelings as Catholics belive in the NLT.
Homophobia and discrimination are forbidden.

A

“No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that” (Leviticus 18:22). It is always wrong.
The salvation of Christ can remove all sins so they can offer prayer groups to help cure you.
They forbid homophobia.

It was one a taboo topic. It wouldn’t happen before marriage and you would only have with one person.
Now it happens more outside of marriage. People have more than one sexual partner and it happens for recreation.
It has changed as people are less religious, the media says it’s ok, contraception is more common. People are marrying later.

You used to have only one partner. No divorce and most people would get married in their 20s.
Now less people are getting married in church. There is more divorce. People are getting remarried.
This is because it is easier to get a divorce, decline or religion.

It used to be more important. The man worked and the woman stayed at home. More nuclear family’s.
Now woman are more in dependant. They go out to work. There are more reconstituted family’s and single parents.
This is because more money is needed. More people are getting a divorce. Women now have equal rights.

A

It used to be expensive and frowned upon. It wasn’t common and it was the choice of the man.
Now 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce. 70% are started by woman. It is cheaper and easier, more socially acceptable.
This is because people are less religious, the law has made it easier, media.

A

It was considered a mental illness. Illegal until 1967. Taboo topic, people weren’t open about it.
Now it is more accepted, legal and they have equal rights.
This is because of social promotion. Gay pride. It is illegal to be homophobic. Science says it isn’t a mental illness.
