A

A person can’t force a person to do anything. Information can’t be forced out so people keep their privacy. If a person protests and goes in a hunger strike you can’t force feed them.

Q

Explain the parable of the sheep and goats.

A

It talks of judgment day where Jesus will come again and split everyone into two groups in the way a Shepard would split up sheep and goats.
The good people are the sheep and they go to heaven as when Jesus was hungry they gave him food, when he was thirsty they gave him water and when he was homeless they gave him a place to sleep. They ask when they did these things to Jesus and he says “ truly, I say to you , as you did,it to one of the least of these brothers my brothers, you do to me”
He turns to the goats and says they didn’t help him, they ask when he needed it and he says what he said before but with some didn’ts in it.

21
Q

All Christians should follow the bible.

Give reasons against.

A

I don’t agree with this statement as it is a very old book written for an older time and it may be misinterpreted.
It is self contradictory. In Deuteronomy 7:2 it says when God delivers your enemies you should destroy them totally and show them no mercy. This means you should kill them but the others parts say you shouldn’t.
If they have problem they could ask members of the congregation for help. It might be hard to find the thing you want in the bible or might not say anything on the subject. Like with contraception or abortion.

22
Q

Human rights abuse only happen not here therse nothing we can do

A

Answer ths queation.

23
Q

There are too many sources to use when making a moral decision. Give reasons that disagree.

A

Got to all all the sources. What do most of them say?
They all come from God.
The bible can’t always be used, so you have to use the others.

25
Q

Explain Cain and Abel.

A

Abel made an offering to God which he liked but he didn’t like Cain’s. He killed Abel and when God asked him where Abel was he said “Am I my brothers keeper?”.

26
Q

How does the story of Cain and Abel encourage christains?

A

Cain asked “am I my brothers keeper?” Ad should he have to look after Abel all the time.
God said that he should as he is the farther and so everyone is equal in his eyes.
This means that a Christian would try to help everyone.
Everyone is my brother or sister as we are all the children of God.

27
Q

Explain a Christian’s moral duty towards others.

A

A Christian must always love others. In 1 John3 it says” we must love one another” and “It must be true love which shows its self in action”. We must use action to show our love. You can give to charity or do volunteer work.
A Christian must love those who don’t love them back. Jesus said “if someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other”
They should be responsible for everyone. Genesis 4 said Cain asked “ Am I my brothers keeper” God said he should as he was the farther and so everyone were equal children in his eyes. Tis means we must look out for one another.
A christian must look out for the lowest of society such as the hungry or homeless. In Matthew 21 it says “what ever you do to the least of brothers, so you do unto me”. This means we must help the people no-one wants to help as it is a good way to show our love for God.
The 10 commandments says that we must respect our parents and not kill people.

28
Q

It is wrong for humans to play God.

Give reason for.

A

God is Omniscient. He knows how to create life that works. We don’t know so would only make his work worse.
God made us the stewards of the Earth. We should look after and not change creation.
Playing God is comparing ones self to God which is blasphemy.

29
Q

It is wrong for humans to play God.

Give reasons against.

A

It can lead to curing of diseases, meaning lives can be saved which is what God wants.
He gave us the ability to conduct genetic engineering. We should use our God given ability.
It means we know more about the world and how complex it is. Tis means we can appreciate the wonders of God better.

30
Q

All Christians should follow the bible.

Give reasons for.

A

It contains the 10 commandments which came from God and if you follow them he will be happy.
It contains the life and works of Jesus, who is the Christian role model. We can use what he did in our everyday life.
It contains the teachings of St Paul. Jesus trusted him and he would have been guided by the holy spirt when he wrote parts of the bible.

31
Q

The problems human rights cause to Christians.

A

The right to equality says that everyone should have equal opportunities but women can’t be priests.
Priests can’t marry, which is against the rights.
Human rights allow gay marriage which the church condemns.

32
Q

Why are human rights important to christains?

A

The sanctity of life. Life comes from God so it should be protected and human rights do this.
“We are all made in God’s image and likeness” Genesis 1 We are all equal and the human rights treat everyone equally.
“What ever you do to the least of my brother so you do unto me” This means that we should help everyone and humans rights do this.
The golden rule. We would want help so we should surpport human rights.

34
Q

Why do Christians use the bible for making moral decisions?

A

It has the life and teachings of Jesus who is the Christian role model.
It is the word of God and he tells us how to be a good Christian and how to get to heaven.
It contains the laws and rules of God. Like the ten commandments. Follow them and get to heaven.
It contains the teachings of St Paul and the disciples. Jesus trusted them, they followed Jesus and taught the first christains.

35
Q

Why is the right to liberty important?

A

It means if you aren’t breaking the law you can do what you want.
The rules apply to everyone or no-one so minorities can’t be singled out.

36
Q

Explain 1 John 3

A

It says “we should love another” and not be like Caine.

It says “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”
