Q

Ways to test reliablity

Test re-test

A

Ppts given a task to measure and complete (context)

The same ppts are given the same task (context) after a time delay e.g 2 weeks

Create the results from each test (context)
Using stats test

Strong positive correlation of above 0.8+ shows high reliability

Q

Ways to test reliability of observations

Inter-observation reliability

A

Reliability of observations can be checked by using 2 observers

2 observers create and trained on how to use behaviour categories

2 observers conduct observation separately watching exact same behaviour for same amount of time but recording observations independently

Tallies from 2 observers should be compared and correlated with appropriate stats test

Strong positive correlation of +0.8 shows high reliability
