Reliability Flashcards

1
Q

What is test-retest reliability

A

The extent to which a participants results are consistent over time.
1-Give participant a questionnaire to complete
2-Give them the same questionnaire after 5 weeks.
3-If they are above 0.8 in similarity, they are high in reliability.

Q

What is inter-reliability

A

The extent to which two or more observers are observing and recording behaviour in a consistent way.
1-Agree on behaviour categories (define so both know what it is)
2- Independently complete observations
3- Compare results-above 0.8 is reliable.

Q

Ways to improve questionnaire reliability

A

Deselect or remove some answers that are hard to interpret.
Only closed questions making less room for misinterpretation.
