Q
  1. What does RedTeam do when you create a CCD?
A

RedTeam creates a new Workorder using the original Workorder number plus a suffix “01, 02, 03…” denoting the CCD number. In construction, these are typically referred to as “customer directives” or “pending” or “potential” change orders.

Q
  1. When should CCDs be created?
A

As a practical matter, a CCD should be created for all changes to the original Scope of Work. RedTeam facilitates the change management process by enabling you to document each change on a CCD, including revised or supplemental Specifications (or other documentary evidence) of the customer’s direction to change the Work. In addition, RedTeam facilitates issuance of Subcontract Directives and Subcontract Change Orders to your Vendors as well.

Q
  1. What is a “Potential Change”?
A

So long as the status of the new CCD Workorder is Draft, Request or Proposal, it will be identified throughout the system as a “Potential Change.” Once the change is authorized by your customer, it will then be identified as an “Authorized Change.”

Q
  1. Can you add supporting documents to the CCD?
A

Just like any new Workorder, you have the opportunity to document the scope with uploaded Specifications, estimate the impact on Takeoff and present a Change Order Proposal to your customer for a contract price adjustment.

Q
  1. Why is it required to enter estimated time and cost on a CCD?
A

CCD Workorders may be authorized with or without agreement on the impact to cost and/or time. While it is always preferable to agree to a contract price adjustment before Extra or changed Work is performed, it is not always possible in the midst of a project. In these cases, RedTeam has an option to show these unpriced CCD’s as Authorized with the amount shown as To Be Determined (“TBD”).

Q
  1. Is T&M an option in a CCD?
A

If provided by the contract with your customer, you may change the type of such CCD’s to be Time and Materials (“T&M”). By doing so, the amounts documented on Committed T&M Worksheets will be summarized and provisionally inserted as the cost impact.
