A
reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation is a program where industrialised countries fund local and regional projects, assists them to improve the management of their forests.

what does REDD+ do?
A
-by creating a financial value for carbon stored in trees, REDD aims to make forests more valuable standing than they would be cut down.

program may not strengthen land rights of Indigenous people as the government may take state ownership of land areas.
